Welcome to the Newsletter

We are delighted to launch the IACFS/ME Newsletter, which will be published on a regular interval and will complement the Bulletin that has become our journal outlet. The Newsletter will be published on a monthly basis, whereas the Bulletin will be published 4 times a year. These are all benefits that our members receive, and if you are not a member, we hope that you will join our vibrant organization. The back issues of both the Newsletter and Bulletin will be archived on our IACFS/ME website.

We hope that you all will visit our newly designed and organized website, which is at www.iacfsme.org.

As you know, on March 12th, 2009 we will once again convene our Convention in Reno, Nevada. Our conference begins with an exciting day of lectures for patients on many different exciting developments in the field. We also will have on that day a set of workshops that clinicians and professionals can sign up for, on topics such as how to treat patients with this illness to securing grant funding. Also, the international perspective will be considered as our Japanese colleagues will have a symposium where they will present  recent data from a basic science level to clinical findings. And one  session during the conference will focus on possible enlargement of international collaborations.

Our formal conference begins on March 13th, and will last three days. In addition to researchers from around the world presenting their best work, we will also present a variety of awards to individuals who have made outstanding contributions to our field. More information about these awards is attached, as well as the outline of our meetings.

You still have time to submit your abstracts to this conference, and the application materials are available at the link below. We encourage you to put this meeting on your calendar, and you will not be disappointed.

Sincerely,

Birgitta Evengard, M.D.
